1.Family Therapist (Job Ref: FT01)

Hours: 37 hours per week (Part time applications will be considered)
Salary: £30,000-£35,000 Per annum depending on experience
Fixed term until 30th September 2020
The successful candidate will join Haven as a member of the current team of therapists offering therapeutic support to refugees and asylum seekers in Hull, East Riding, North and North East Lincolnshire and Scarborough. The successful applicant will be at the forefront of a newly developing service offering therapeutic support to vulnerable school aged refugee children and their families. The post holder will also be supporting schools by assessing short/longer term needs through agreed care plans and strategies for managing in-school behavioural concerns. Some of the main responsibilities will include:
• To work with interpreters in the delivery of the service.
• To provide evidence-based assessments and treatments within a clinical and community setting for children, young people and their families carry a caseload of both short and long-term clients.
• To create assessment formulations, hypothesis and treatment programmes which are reviewed regularly considering the cultural context of the situation.
• To provide specialist family therapy assessments and evidence based interventions.
• To work in ways that are sensitive to the needs of people of diverse, racial, cultural, religious backgrounds and different lifestyles particularly those who find change difficult.
• To provide specialist family plans and utilise theory, knowledge and practice based on a conceptual framework using evidence based practise.
• Make highly skilled evaluations and decisions about treatment options taking into account highly complex relationship factors, the impact of multiple trauma and the fact that clients are recent arrivals in the UK with very different cultural norms and experiences.
• To plan and prioritise their own workload whilst coordinating with colleagues in the team to ensure clients do not wait any longer than necessary for a planned intervention.
The successful candidate must hold a valid UK driving licence.
The ideal candidate must have a MSc in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy or Therapist with Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) qualification. (UKCP, BCP, BACP, BPS registered) and experience of fasciliting systemic assessments and leading team discussions around the development of hypothesis in order to ensure families access the right interventions. Experience of working with interpreters in a counselling setting/willingness to undertake training. Would be an advantage but is not essential.

2.Therapist (Job Ref: T01)

Hours: 37 hours per week
Salary: £26,000£29,000 Per annum depending on experience
Fixed term until 30th September 2020
The purpose of the post is to provide a therapeutic service for adult refugees arriving and/obtaining refugee status in the UK and living in Kingston upon Hull, Scarborough, North Lincolnshire and North East Lincolnshire and East Riding of Yorkshire. The responsibilities of this post include the provision of a high-quality family therapist service as part of a partnership programme with the Refugee Council. The main responsibilities will include:
• To carry a caseload of individual short and long term therapy clients.
• To carry out Assessments. Working systemically with the family where appropriate.
• Work as a member of the wider Haven team of therapists and liaison case worker.
• To liaise with the Internal Supervisor concerning the clinical management of the service.
• To liaise with other professionals involved in client care and attend meetings where necessary with external agencies.
• To contribute to the group and family therapeutic service as agreed with the Internal Supervisor.
• To ensure that the therapeutic work is monitored and evaluated according to the evaluation tools currently in use by the Haven.
The ideal candidate must have a formal accredited training in Psychotherapy or Counselling. (UKCP, BCP, BACP, BPS registered) Diploma level or equivalent. The candidate must have Experience of providing a service to appropriate clinical standards in an alternative setting, such as the client’s home, a school, or other agency. Experience of working with interpreters in a counselling setting would be an advantage but is not essential.
